Users of the toll system no longer have to file a claim for a surcharge for incorrectly set of axles. Newly from 18/02/2024, users can make additional payments for incorrectly set of axles in customer self-service and at contact points, both in prepaid mode and in post-pay mode.

Notification for vehicle operators with regards to the Electronic Toll System: in the Finder you can check if a vehicle qualifies for another CO2 emission class
Vehicles registered in the Electronic Toll System will automatically qualify for the basic 1st CO2 emission class as of 1 March 2024. For vehicles first registered after 1 July 2019, operators can check the registration documents and use the CO2 Emission Class Finder at www.mytocz.eu/co2 to see if they qualify for a higher CO2 emission class with lower fees.

General terms and conditions valid from 1 March 2024
In connection with changes in the electronic toll system based on the implementation of Directive (EU) 2022/362 of the European Parliament and of the Council and the amendment to Act 13/1997 Coll., on road transport, as amended, there will be a new version of General terms and conditions valid from 1 March 2024.

Toll collection in 2023 remained just below the threshold of 15 billion Czech crowns, which represented an increase by 0.4 percent year-on-year
In 2023 carriers paid a total of 14.914 billion crowns in tolls for vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons. The collection increased year-on-year by nearly 61 million crowns, or by 0.41 percent. A slight growth in toll collection was recorded even though last year had two working days less than the previous year 2022.

Toll rates for vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons will include a new CO2 emission charge component from 1 March 2024
The electronic toll system in the Czech Republic is introducing a new toll charge component from 1 March 2024, which will take into account the CO2 emissions of vehicles subject to toll payment. The adjustment is being enacted in connection with the implementation of Directive (EU) 2022/362 of the European Parliament and of the Council, which aims to promote further reduction in CO2 emissions.

Warning for drivers: new no-overtaking sections for trucks on the D1 motorway
From November 11, 2023, an overtaking ban for trucks began to apply on the D1 highway on the section from kilometer 90 to 112. The overtaking restriction applies every day from 05:00 to 22:00. Newly installed traffic signs warn drivers about the prohibition of overtaking. Over the next few days, signs should be placed along the D1 highway in the entire section that runs through Vysočina.
